Email is the only way we handle enquiries, and every message goes to one inbox:
We read everything and aim to reply within two business days.
If your company appears in our rankings
Rankings are computed from public installation records that utilities and state agencies report to Berkeley Lab's Tracking the Sun dataset. We can't change those records, but if your company's name is wrong, two companies have been merged under one name, or your company is shown as closed by mistake, email us and we will correct how we read them.
If you believe your company shouldn't appear at all, write from an address at your company's domain and explain why. We review every request.
If you found an error
A company that has closed, a wrong company name, a figure that does not match its source — please tell us which page and what is wrong. Corrections are the most useful email we get.
What to include
A reply is faster when the first email has everything we need to check it:
- The page: the link to the city ranking or company profile, for example
/installation/california/san-diego/. - What is wrong: the name, figure or status as it appears now, and what it should say.
- How we can confirm it: a news report or court filing for a closure, a state license record for a name change, or the acquiring company's announcement for a merger.
Installation counts come straight from the records, so we can't add systems a company says it installed but that utilities didn't report. If a whole utility seems to be missing, tell us which one; some don't report to Tracking the Sun at all, and the methodology lists the gaps we know about.
Press and data questions
Journalists and researchers can use our figures with a link to the page they come from. The solar installer data page summarizes the main numbers and how they were built. For a figure that isn't published, a different cut of the data or a quote, email us with your deadline.
If your installer has closed
We can't take over service, but most of what you need is already on the site: what still works when an installer closes, and on each city repair page, the installers that closed there and the active companies that can take over. If your installer closed and we still list it as active, that is exactly the kind of correction we want.
What we cannot help with
We are a directory, not a solar contractor. We cannot quote a system, service equipment, handle a warranty claim or intervene in a dispute with a company listed here. For those, contact the company directly, or your state contractor licensing board if the issue is unresolved.
We use your email only to answer you and don't add it to any list. See our privacy policy.
